Mark Pearlman, Co-founder of Intelligent Money

 

Mark Pearlman is a business strategist, media and marketing executive, and nonprofit activist with expertise in financial management, business start-ups, media, and marketing. He is a founder of Rethink Partners, a firm focused on solving urgent social issues by developing initiatives that create a transformative social impact. Mark held numerous management positions in finance and media including as CBS Vice President, Business Development and part of the original executive team that launched the Fox News Channel.

 

Mark is the co-founder with Professor John Longo of Intelligent Money (IM) which is a multimedia platform offering practical Financial Literacy education from Hall of Fame (HOF) investment professionals. Part of the IM strategy includes the +Club, a High School Financial Literacy and Life Skills program targeted for underserved communities with a recently completed successful pilot in Newark, New Jersey.

Having worked closely with many high-profile organizations, including Smart Design and McKinsey & Company, Mark has developed an out-of-the-box approach to business strategy with his Rethink Partners company, where Professor Longo is also a partner. Rethink Partners is developing and will manage the Intelligent Money and +Club platforms.

 

Mark supports charitable causes through direct involvement with specific nonprofits. He is a former Chairman of the Children’s Museum of Manhattan and has funded and directed many Jewish community initiatives. Mark was also a Board member of the Annenberg Foundation initiative in New York City for the arts and education.

 

Mark is a graduate of Brandeis University and holds an MBA from the Sloan School at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

John Longo, PhD, CFA, Co-Founder of Intelligent Money

 

John M. Longo PhD, CFA is an American investment strategist, portfolio manager, educator, editor, speaker, and author. He is globally recognized as an expert in Investments, Behavioral Finance, Financial Literacy, Hedge Funds, and Portfolio Management. He has spoken on investment related topics in more than 10 countries and 17 states, including many keynote presentations. He has won a total of seven awards for teaching, research, and service excellence.

Dr. Longo is a Distinguished Professor of Finance & Economics at Rutgers Business School and Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager for Beacon Trust, a registered investment advisor with approximately $4 billion under management. Dr. Longo also served for 7 years as a Visiting Professor of Finance at EMBA Global Asia – the joint international Executive MBA Program of Columbia University, London Business School, and The University of Hong Kong. In 2022 Columbia Business School bestowed upon him its Executive MBA Commitment to Excellence Award (i.e., “Favorite Professor” Award). He is the bestselling author of The Art of Investing: Lessons from History’s Greatest Traders and Buffett’s Tips: A Guide to Financial Literacy and Life.

 

Dr. Longo has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, Bloomberg Radio, ABC News, Fox Business, BBC World, wsj.com (video), GreatInvestors.tv, The (Ron) Insana Quotient, National Public Radio, and several other programs. He has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Thomson Reuters, Dow Jones MarketWatch, U.S. News & World Report, CNBC.com, Investors Business Daily, The Harvard Crimson, Yale Daily News, The Chicago Tribune, Yahoo! Finance, Business Insider, The Star-Ledger, and dozens of other periodicals. He led Rutgers students to a personal visit with Warren Buffett in Omaha, Nebraska on four separate occasions. Previously, he was a Vice President at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. and served on the Advisory Board of Bloomberg’s educational subsidiary, The Bloomberg Institute. He is a member of the Board Of Directors of Belite Bio, a San Diego based Biotech firm (Nasdaq: BLTE) with a market cap of ~$1 billion.
